  • 1930


    In 1930 Salvador Ros and Clara Montells started to sell fresh fish from the fish market in the town of Blanes and to nearby towns along the Costa Brava, offering a local service for restaurants and stores.

  • 1965

    Peixos Ros

    The second generation, headed by Francisco Ros and Núria Valls, took over the small family business and founded Peixos Ros. Over time it became
    a benchmark in the distribution of wholesale fresh and frozen fish and seafood in the province of Girona, thanks to a growing variety of seafood products from different sources.

  • 1983


    The third generation - Salvador, Gemma and Francesc – joined the business and sales began to expand to markets beyond the province of Girona. With this growth, Peixos Ros became Comerç de Peix Ros, as well as expanding and diversifying its range of products and services.

  • 1985


    The path toward the internationalization of the business, together with distribution channels opening up and new markets being exploited, was consolidated with the establishment of Grup Ros, which is now organized as follows: Comerç de Peix Ros, specialist in the food service and retail channels; Frigorífics Ros – currently Import/Export – provides a service to large supermarkets, canning factories and central markets both nationally and internationally; Logística Ros, which covers the Group's logistics and transportation needs, making more than 6,500 journeys per year.

    Freskibo was created to enhance the refrigerated fish category on the shelves of large supermarkets and to offer healthy, tasty and easy-to-prepare fish and seafood solutions, adapting to new trends in market consumption and focusing on innovation and developing new formats and products.
